1979 - 1984 Studied photography at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig.

1984 Admitted to the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR and licensed to work as a freelancer.

1990 -1993 Travels to the USA (at the invitation of Robert Frank).

1993 - 2000 Travels to Egypt.

2000 - 2020 Travels to Peru and Bolivia.

Member of the Academy of Arts, Berlin and Saxon Academy of Arts, Dresden. Lives in Truijillo, Peru and Berlin, Germany.
