We're thrilled to announce our first participation in miart, showcasing a curated presentation that harmoniously juxtaposes the distinct yet complementary visions of two of our programs artists.
First up is Sophie Utikal, a textile virtuoso whose creations emanate from her deeply personal experiences as a woman of color. Her "Growing New World" series, meticulously crafted from unconventional materials like leatherette and upcycled leather, marks a shift in her practice.

On the flip side, we're delighted to feature Mark Van Yetter, a visionary painter hailing from New York. Mark's oeuvre, exemplified by his "Plumberbund Charity" series, invites viewers into enigmatic realms woven from fragments of reality and imagination. His introspective gaze towards the external world sets a captivating counterpoint to Sophie's introspective musings.
Join us at miart 2024 as we present a curated dialogue between Sophie Utikal's tactile explorations of self and Mark Van Yetter's evocative reflections on the external realms. It's an exhibition where themes and materials intertwine, offering a multi-dimensional experience that celebrates the diversity of artistic expression.
